In October 2006, Collins, Banks, and Rutherford reunited for their new world tour. During the press conference, 20 dates from Turn It On Again tour were revealed. Besides Collins, Banks, and Rutherford, Daryl Stuermer and Chester Thompson are involved in the tour. The musicians decided that no tracks from Calling All Stations will be played during the shows, but a selection of songs from 1973-1991 will be performed. A North American tour of the music band will be put together for the time after the European tour.
According to their own words, the band is planning to do a selection of shows rather than a tour, which they will do across Europe and then another selection of shows in North America.
The tour will take place during Summer 2007, and play 12 countries across Europe, followed by a second part in North America. The group and long-time producer, Nick Davis, are due to re-release their back catalogue in 3 batches in 2007. Each of them will comprise a third of the Genesis’s albums (from Trespass to Calling All Stations) in a boxset-style release. They will comprise a double-disc set that contains a multi-channel hybrid Super Audio CD, and a DVD-Video with DTS 96/24, and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks.
Officially, the band kicked off their 2007 Turn It On Again World Tour in Helsinki, Finland on June 11 2007. The band is going to perform over fifty shows in 2007, as they make stops in several countries including Great Britain, Denmark, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the United States, and Canada. Their German performance was broadcast live to several cinemas across the United Kingdom and Europe. On July 7 2007, the group took part at Live Earth, a series of concerts in order to promote action to confront global climate change at the new Wembley Stadium in London, UK, along with other world-famous musicians, like Duran Duran, Madonna, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
