The Police reunite and tickets are going fast!

One of the greatest rock groups of our time have reunited. The Police, known for great music in the 80’s is back again. The band’s punk-rock-reggae-new wave music created some of the most remarkable music in the history of rock. This legendary group is famous for their unique songs like, Don’t Stand So Close To Me Message in a bottle, , and Every Breath You Take took the band all the way to the Music Hall of Fame.

Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers rocked the stage at the 2007 Grammy’s on February 11, 2007. They marked the 30th anniversary of their hit song entitled Roxanne. The following day, the band announced their reunion tour, the first one in many years. The legendary band will be hitting the road worldwide starting from summer 2007.

Actually, the band never said they were breaking up, however, their last album was released in 1983, and following year, the group went on tour for the last time. In 1986, they played 3 concerts, and then 3 songs, when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

A&M Records plans one or more CD/DVD boxed set releases of the band’s catalog in 2007. Guitarist Summers and Drummer Copeland have publicly supported the idea of a reunion. Vocalist Sting has been publicly reluctant about this idea.

In 2006, the Police members were very much on the radar screen. Stewart Copeland made a documentary film about the group, entitled Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out. Andy Summers published a book, One Train Later. And Sting released a record of 16th century lute music. If you are one of the Police fans, who have been desperately waiting for a Police concert tour for the past couple of decades, you might just see a glimmer of hope. So get ready to sing your heart when the Police hit the big stage in your area.
