Wintuk – that’s how the people of Alaska pronounce the English word winter. Wintuk is a brilliant unexpected performance created by the masters of entertainment Cirque du Soleil.

Wintuk is a story of a young boy named Jamie who lives in expectation of winter. Although the ice long shadows and cold have come, the most important attribute of winter season has disappeared - snow.

Jamie starts his one private investigation and tries to find out what has caused this. On his quest, he will have to meet a variety of characters - from the urban street heroes, to giant dogs and talking marionettes. But he is not alone in his journey – a nice mysterious young girl who appears from a shadow (The Shadow Girl) and a homeless woman living with her dogs and known to have unusual powers, including ability to summon the moon (The Shaman) will do theirs best to help our young hero. He is also joined by Wimpy, a shy young boy scared of many things, even of his own shadow; this guy will have to overcome his fears and discover the courage to save friends.

This incredibly dangerous adventure will bring the characters to a mysterious arctic world Wintuk – a dark environment with no sunlight. Jamie and his friends will find themselves surrounded by horrifying ice creatures and the richly civilized People of the North. Our brave team will help the city and the sun finally comes back to Wintuk. Jamie and his friends are transported home on the back of a big crane. All these events generate an incredible snowstorm, and the triumphal snowfall comes to Jamie’s hometown.
