Steve Harvey Comedy Show Dates and Information

Steve Harvey was born in Welch West Virginia on the 17th of January 1957. In his later years he moved to Cleveland Ohio and in 1974 he completed his High school education at Glenville high School. He is an accomplished American comedian, proficient actor, competent entertainer, and a unique radio personality.

Harvey commenced doing his stand-up comedy routines in mid 1980, which eventually led to an extended spell as the host of the program “It's Showtime at the Apollo” for which replaced his Mark Curry for the role. He was so successful as a stand-up that Warner brothers bestowed on him his own show between 1996 and 2002 entitled the “Steve Harvey Show”. While his show was as uncontrollable success with within the African-American community winning several NAACP Image Awards, his show never was able to achieve serious commendation outside the African-American section. This presented a matter of grave concern to Harvey and of which he often complained. In 1997 Harvey teamed up with Cedric the Entertainer, Bernie Mac, and D.L. Hughley to form the stand-up comedy touring team of Kings of Comedy. Spike Lee would later put the comedy act into a film entitled “Original Kings of Comedy”.

Upon completion of his hosting tour at the Apollo and the finalization of the Steve Harvey show, Steve acted in a few minor roles but functioned as a major fraction in many of the African-American occasion and become a regular on the BET channel. He has additionally released a music CD consisting of relatively unknown but talented R & B as well as Hip Hop artist. The CD is being released under his own label, which he has founded. “Steve Harvey’s Big Time” is a book of which Harvey has authored and has been preparing for publication. In 2004 Marshall Mathers or better known as Eminem the popular rapper, released his recorded track of "Just Lose It" which humorously made remarks on both Michael Jackson's singing career as well as his historically legal battles.

Hearing this Steve was nippy in responding against Eminem’s song lyrics publicly stating something to the extent that Eminem had lost his pass to the ghetto and they wanted it back. Harvey, had initially expecting to receive affirmative reaction concerning this remark however he was hastily condemn by many for supporting the controversial legal posture of Michael Jackson including condemnation of his remarks concerning Eminem.

Harvey was married previously to Mary Shackelford. They were divorced in 2005 after being married for 10 years. The couple has one son named Wynton. Harvey has twin daughters and another son from the first of his marriages. For the third time he married an old time friend, Marjorie Bridges in June of 2007.
