High School Musical Concert Information

High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original movie, produced in 2006. The musical film was made for TV showing.

The story tells us about two students Troy and Gabriella. Troy is the captain of the schools basketball team and Gabriella is a math genius. They get to know that theres going to be auditions for the winter musical. Both want to participate in it. The desire is so great that Troy decides to skip his basketball practice and sing instead. His teammates are all shocked and the coach is furious. On their way to their goal the guys come across many obstacles, but obviously we see a happy end: the two are given the precious parts in the musical. The film is pierced through with many wonderful and touching songs.

The film director made a wonderful job choosing the young and talented actors like Zac Efron (as Troy Bolton), Vanessa Anne Hudgens (as Gabriella Montez), Ashley Tisdale (as Sharpay Evans), Lucas Grabeel (as Ryan Evans), Monique Coleman (as Taylor McKessie), Corbin Bleu (as Chad Danforth), Olesya Rulin (as Kelsi Nielsen), Chris Warren Jr. (as Zeke Baylor), and many others.

The musical was first televised on the 20th of January 2006 in the Unites States and Canada, in June in Australia and Asia, and later the same year conquered the hearts in Europe, South Africa and Latin America. It had great success.

The soundtrack to the film was released at the beginning of January 2006, and in the first week almost 7 thousand copies were sold. In three weeks the album with the film soundtracks became number 10, and already in March it became a number one on the Billboard 200. In seven months more that seven million copies were sold worldwide, and thus it became triple platinum.

There are fifteen tracks in the album, four of them were sung by Troy and Gabriella. Several composers were hired to write the music to the film. They are Matthew Gerard, Robbie Nevil, David Lawrence, Fay Greenberg, Ray Cham, Greg Cham, Andrew Seeley, Randy Petersen, Kevin Quinn, Andy Dodd, Adam Watts, and Jamie Houston.

The movie stars will take part in nationwide concerts, which will take place in forty cities. The first concert will be held on the 30th of November in San Diego. The concerts include the songs from the film and the main cast members: Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Drew Seeley, and Corbin Bleu.

The High School Musical won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Childrens Program and for Outstanding Choreography, and was chosen as a nominee for the American Music Awards for the best pop album. It did not win but proved once again that both the director and the cast did an excellent job.
