The Bowling Green Falcons are alumni of Bowling Green State University, which was founded in 1910. The University is situated in Bowling Green, Ohio. It offers undergraduate programs in different fields; it also gives an opportunity for further education and for getting a masters and doctoral degree both internally and online. The University is also noted for its undergraduate Neuroscience programs.

BGSU sports activities are represented by 18 womens and mens Division I sports (football, hockey, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, wrestling, rugby, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, lacrosse, track and cross country, softball).

The Bowling Green Falcons hockey team plays in the Mid-American Conference and Central Collegiate Hockey Association. In 1984 the team won the day over the University of Minnesota- Duluth team and became the NCAA National Champion.

The womens teams have made great strides as well. The most notable womens teams are a Basketball team and a Soccer team. The Falcons Basketball womens team became the Conference Champions two years running in 2005 and 2006. And the womens soccer team gained victory and became the Champion in 2005. It was their most recent victory.

The Bowling Green Falcons are one of the 13 American Universities teams, which manage to represent their university in NCAA football I-A Division, hockey I Division, and men's and women's basketball Conference Championships.
