It's mid-October and all eyes are on the MLB postseason. As the remaining teams dwindle, the intensity only picks up. Every game won is one more step towards eternal glory, while every game lost is another step towards a blown opportunity. For the four remaining teams--the Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Philadelphia Phillies--victory is the only option. Each team, incidentally, has the "goods" to get the job done. For the Philadelphia Phillies, the strength lies in the skills of their batting lineup. The deadly combination of Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, and Jimmy Rollins is powerful enough to shake even the most steadfast pitching. The Los Angeles Dodgers are backed by the hard-hitting and hall-of-famer-to-be Manny Ramirez. With him in the lineup, a single swing of the bat is enough to drastically change the momentum. But the youth of the Tampa Bay Rays is not to be overlooked. Showing that their youth does not mean lacking nerves and patience, the Rays have powered their way through the slugging White Sox and are ready to take the ALCS. The defending World Series Champion Boston Red Sox, however, will not let that happen without a fight. The Red Sox basically have an MVP at every position so they are never out of any game. The race to the World Series is going to be exhilarating to say the least. You can catch the big games live this year, though, if you take advantage of our World Series tickets.

Lewis Black does it all. He’s been in movies, television shows, and documentaries. He’s written books, released dvd’s, and spoken on the radio. He’s been a stand-up comedian since 1981 and what’s even better is that he’s actually funny. If you want to see for yourself, watch his Comedy Central television series, Lewis Black’s Root of Evil. It has finished its second season and the first season is now out on dvd. The show has proven extremely successful. In it, Black presides as judge over a courtroom where fellow comedians come in to debate which topic is worse. Past topics have included: Paris Hilton vs. Dick Cheney, Strip Clubs vs. Sororities, and The Hills vs. Rocket Scientists.
His new cd, Anticipation, is also out in stores if you want to give his stand-up a listen.
Currently he’s on tour called "Let Them Eat Cake", promoting his new book, Me Of Little Faith. Be sure to grab your Lewis Black tickets before they sell out!

While the NHL season has officially started, no game has yet been played on American ground. This past weekend, the NHL opened the season with two pairs of games featuring the Rangers vs. Lightning, and the Penguins vs. Senators, played in Prague and Stockholm respectively. The New York Rangers returned to America this week with a 2-0 record while the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators split their series. Tonight, however, things go into full swing on American ice when the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs in their home opener. The Red Wings/Maple Leafs game will be the first of four opening day games. Boston will play Colorado; Calgary against Vancouver; and finally Anaheim at San Jose. The beginning of the new season has both players and fans excited. All the fantastic goals, huge hits, and incredible saves that seemed omnipresent last year are guaranteed to return with this new season. You can catch all the action live if you want. Check out our 2008 NHL schedule and find the must-see hockey games you can't miss.

Luckily for the city of Chicago, the ban on Mixed Martial Arts fighting events was lifted and has paved the way for UFC 90; an event guaranteed to thrill fighting fans in the "Second City" area. Among the huge names appearing on the UFC 90 fight card such as Spencer Fisher, Hermes Franca, and Sean Sherk, Chicago will be treated to the best pound-for-pound fighter of today when Anderson "The Spider" Silva defends his middleweight belt against hard-hitting Patrick Cote. If you’ve never seen a UFC fight before, this one would definitely be a fantastic starting point. Trying to eschew as much biasness as possible, it’s not a stretch at all to say that Silva is the Muhammad Ali of the UFC. He can beat you in so many ways: with his power, his speed, his technique, his supranatural flexibility, or simply psyche you out. What will make this fight even better is that both men prefer to stand up and bang it out, meaning there will be less wrestling and more knockout blows. Though Silva is definitely the favorite in the match, UFC is completely unpredictable and that’s what makes it fantastic. One great shot and it’s all over. Don’t miss out on the action when the UFC comes to town. Order your UFC tickets today and save big!

Hampton, Virginia better watch out because their town will soon be overrun with hippies. Lots and lots of hippies. Come March 2009 the smell of Nag Champa will flow through the streets and marijuana smoke signals will be cast out above the town to lead others near. Grocery store shelves will be lacking in granola and vegetables, freezers will be empty of ice. A gypsy camp, better known as a “Shakedown”, will be set up in the parking lot of the Hampton Coliseum. Clothes, food, art and jewelry will be sold for gas money. When the night comes Hampton will come alive with the light of the traditional glowstick war and the magical yet ever so technically groovy sounds of Phish LIVE IN CONCERT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOUR YEARS. Many fans didn’t see this coming; some were just waiting for the day. I am going to drive 900 miles to see Phish perform in Virginia just in case they don’t announce any dates near my hometown. I have reserved my tickets through the site, but just in case I don’t win the Phish ticket lottery I am going to find my Phish tickets through Vivid Seats.

For the first time since 2003 the Oklahoma Sooners are back in the number 1 spot in the AP power ranking system. After an upside-down previous weekend in which then number 1 USC was beaten by Oregon State, the Oklahoma Sooners moved up to their current status. But they haven't let the spotlight change the way they think or the way they intend to play. It'll be just business as usual for the Sooners. Both the coaches and players have vehemently expressed their feelings that it is always "one week at a time" in the Sooners football camp. Every match is a separate being that needs to be treated with separate, specific attention. The Sooners will open up their conference-play this Saturday with a matchup on the road against the Baylor Bears at Waco Field. While the Sooners have beaten the Bears in every one of their 17 meetings (in their last four trips to Waco Field the Sooners have won by an average of 6 touchdowns), they know it is not a game to be taken lightly. That is, unless they wish to end up like the now 9th ranked USC Trojans. You can catch all the action live if you take advantage of our NCAA football tickets.

It was a disappointing start for the White Sox's World Series hopes but it was far from discouraging. After a 6-4 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday afternoon, the Chicago White Sox are looking for redemption. Apart from a few key plays by Rays' Evan Longoria, the Sox managed to hang in there with the Rays. Friday night, however, they will want to do much more than simply "hang in there." With the defensive hopes resting squarely on the shoulder(s) of pitching ace Mark Buehrle, Guillen and the Sox hope that his experience in the 2005 playoffs will help him lead the Sox to a split in the first two games with Tampa. That and the momentum from his most recent pitching masterpiece against the Indians on September 28th, where he led the Sox to a 5-1 victory. Though this is going to be a huge game with even greater ramifications for each side, Buehrle is trying to keep as simple as "it's just another game." It's the same mentality that he had for the do-or-die match against the Indians, and that worked well so perhaps lightning will strike twice. He'll have to contend against the talented Scott Kazmir of the Rays, however. Tonight the game starts at 5:00 p.m. CT on TBS but you can see all the Sox playoff games live with our White Sox playoff tickets.

Meet the machine that is Tony Bennett. The man is 82 years old and yet he displays more energy than plenty of men in their 20s. Tony has led a life of career interruptions. Beginning in his early 20s, his career was disrupted by the outbreak of World War II, only to be resumed and taken to greater heights in the 50s and 60s. In the mid 60s, however, he encountered yet more opposition as rock music took the foreground in the music world. But Tony was only playing possum and stormed the music world once more in the late 80s to reclaim his spot as a premiere talent. Now, new generations are discovering the immense talent of Mr. Bennett (who still insists on singing his "Fly me to the Moon" song without microphone or any amplification, in order to demonstrate his ability of vocal projection). Since the mid 1990s, Bennett has recorded and toured on a regular basis (often doing up to 200 shows per year). Now’s your chance to catch live act of the man who has lived through nearly every major musical transformation in the United States, and still keeps on doing his thing. His new tour will take him to many major cities in the United States. Order your Tony Bennett tickets today and catch his legendary act!
