That the Brewers have been in a September Slump is no secret. Anyone with internet access can deduce as much by looking at their September record (2-6). They've been able to gain no ground on the Cubs to take the NL Division title, despite the Cubs' equally poor recent record. This would be okay if Milwaukee was still sittin' pretty atop of the Wild Card berth...but they're not. A three-game lead is all they have on the Philadelphia Phillies. Three may seem like a comfortable buffer-zone but if the Brewers continue their cold play and Philadelphia, conversely, continues their hot play, then the Brewers may find themselves looking around and asking what just happened; especially since the Brewers will play the Phillies in a four-game series this Thursday-Sunday. The Brewers' playoff destiny is in their own hands and they know it. They just need to get the bats heated up again and find some sort of September slump buster. Tonight and tomorrow the Brewers will look to find a little momentum against the Reds before heading out to Philadelphia on Thursday. The Brewers' hitters will have to face Reds pitcher Ramon Ramirez tonight at 7:05 CDT. Jeff Suppan will start for the Brewers.

In 1991, the film "What About Bob?" summarizes Neil Diamond best. "There are two types of people in the world: those who like Neil Diamond and those who don’t." This encapsulates Neil Diamond’s polarization effect fairly concisely. However, Diamond must be doing something right because he’s in his 50th active year as a musician and the man still packs the house. He has sold something like 120 million records worldwide to date, and is still releasing top-quality music. His latest album, Home Before Dark, instantly went number one in the Billboard Charts in both the UK and USA. Now he’s promoting that album via a major tour of the United States/Canada, hitting every corner, nook, cranny, and spot in between. Fans can expect to hear all of his classics like "I’m a Believer," "Sweet Caroline," and "Red Red Wine" (yes, Neil Diamond and not UB40 wrote that song). If you’re a Neil Diamond fan you can’t afford to miss an older, wiser, more soulful Neil Diamond. Check out our Neil Diamond tour dates and see when he’s coming to town.

With the new NHL season rapidly approaching (games begin October 4th and 5th will special matches in Prague and Stockholm), the Pittsburgh Penguins have had plenty of time to ruminate on last year's fantastic Stanley Cup Playoffs where they ultimately lost in the finals to the Detroit Red Wings. Now they need to focus on the upcoming year and forget about everything that happened last year. More importantly, they need to ignore the historical statistics that weigh heavily against the team who lost the previous year's Stanley Cup Finals. Of the last 12 teams that lost the Stanley Cup Finals series, only one has gone to the playoffs and moved past the first series. Four of the twelve teams have missed the playoffs entirely. The Penguins need to ignore these facts, however, if they wish to at least repeat last season. Though the Penguins have lost a few key players since last year's run, they have also gained some bright new prospects; not to mention the fact that the core group of players who carried the Penguins to the Finals will also return. The Penguins just need to play hockey and not think about history. To check out Pittsburgh Penguins games go to our hockey tickets page.

The much anticipated NFL football season got underway last night in a big way last night when the defending Superbowl champion New York Giants played and comfortably defeated the Washington Redskins 16-7. The game should be enough to wet the palates of football fanatics long enough until Sunday rolls around and the NFL really gets moving. At this point, there’s so many little bits of team news going on that it would be impossible to cover them all, and almost pointless to focus in on one. Instead, let’s take a quick look at 5 new NFL rules for the 2008 season so you won’t be surprised when they come into effect.

1) Similar to the microphone/headset available on the QB helmet, the defense will now have one player on the field with a similar helmet. This will allow defensive coaches to better organize their defensive units during huddles.

2) The old "force out" rule has been abolished. No longer is it the case where it is a completion if a receiver makes a catch and was going to land in bounds but was pushed out of bounds by a defender. Now, if you don’t come down with the ball in bounds, it is not a completion.

3) Coaches can now defer the coin toss. If they win the toss they can choose to defer the decision to the opposing team.

4) Instant replay will be used to review difficult-to-call field goals.

5) Face masking is an automatic 15-yard penalization. No longer is there a 5-yard and 15-yard differentiation. If you grab facemask, it’s an automatic 15 yards.

Now, when you see an NFL game you should be caught up to date with the new regulations. If you want to see a football game live then check out our NFL tickets page.

With the Ryder Cup only two weeks away, the American and European teams have finalized their rosters for the annual international battle to be held in Louisville, Kentucky at the beauteous Valhall Golf Club. For the past 10 years the European teams have pretty much dominated the American teams, winning 7 and tying 1. This year, however, Paul Azinger will be wearing the captain badge and hopes to snuff out the competition. Joining him on the 12-man American team will be his four personal selections: Steve Stricker, Hunter Mahan, J.B. Holmes and Chad Campbell; and the top eight qualifiers in PGA play: Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Justin Leonard, Ben Curtis and Boo Weekley. Though the team is relatively inexperienced in Ryder Cup play, Azinger remains confident despite the stiff competition on the European side which includes: European captain Nick Faldo, Paul Casey, Ian Poulter, Sergio Garcia, Soren Hansen, Padraig Harrington, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Robert Karlsson, Graeme McDowell, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Lee Westwood and Oliver Wilson. The European side boasts far great Ryder Cup experience. Don’t miss the international battle this year! Check out our Ryder Cup tickets on sale right now!
