More than twenty years ago Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt formed Green Day as 15-years-olds in California. They added drummer Tré Cool along the way and became punk rock gods in the early 1990's. This summer, fans will be able to get their hands on Green Day tickets with the band announcing they will be touring Europe and the United States this summer. After playing dates in London, Venice, Paris, and other European cities from late May to early July, Green Day will tour the US throughout the month of August.

The tour will feature songs from the band's eight studio albums as well as their recent release, 21st Century Breakdown. The band's 2004 album, American Idiot, is presently being turned into a Broadway play of the same name opening on April 20th. Tom Hanks has even been rumored to be involved in bringing American Idiot to the silver screen in a big-budget movie version of the band’s rock opera. This summer should certainly be a big one for Green day.

The 2010 Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne, Florida will be a great opportunity for tennis fans in America to see the world’s best in person from March 22nd to April 4th. All the big names are scheduled to play at Crandon Park including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Dinara Safina, and both Venus and Serena Williams. The women’s world #1, Serena Williams, will be looking to avenge her 2009 defeat in the Sony Ericsson Open finals to Belarusian tennis phenom Victoria Azarenka. Williams recently paid the 20-year-old back at the Australian Open where the American dispatched Azarenka in the quarterfinals in route to another grand slam title.

On the men’s side, Andy Murray won the tournament last year over Novak Djokovic, but England’s national hero will be hard pressed to repeat this year with a healthy Federer and Nadal in the tournament. An American man hasn’t won the Sony Ericsson since Andy Roddick won in 2004.  Roddick started 2010 in good form winning the Brisbane Invitational in January, but lost in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open partly due to a shoulder injury. With both the men’s and women’s tournaments stocked with talent, Sony Ericsson Open tickets will be some of hottest items on the market this year.
