    Awards Ceremony

Fans attending the Country Music Association Awards in 2014 should expect to see a lot of Miranda Lambert at the upcoming ceremony. At the Sept. 3 reveal of this year’s CMA Awards nominees, the singer behind 2014’s chart-topping album Platinum led the pack with nine nominations, tying her own previous record from 2010.

When the 2014 CMA Awards return to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 5, Lambert will aim to continue her four-year reign as CMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year, a category she has appeared in consistently since 2007. In addition to earning nods for Album, Single, and Music Video of the Year, Lambert was also the only female artist nominated in the coveted Entertainer of the Year category for the 2014 CMAs. This will be Lambert’s second time competing in the category after her first nomination in 2010.

The “Automatic” vocalist is joined in the running for Entertainer of the Year by husband Blake Shelton, who previously won the category in 2012. In 2014, Shelton will also be looking to lock down his fifth consecutive win as Male Vocalist of the Year, in addition to his first for Single of the Year. Other artists competing in the Entertainer of the Year category include Keith Urban and Luke Bryan, who are both contenders for Male Vocalist of the Year, as well.

Although Lambert leads the nominations by a wide margin, Dierks Bentley is the next contender with five nods for his latest No. 1 album, 2014’s Riser. Next, Keith Urban’s four nominations tie him with Eric Church, whose 2014 album The Outsiders has earned widespread acclaim since its release in February. The Outsiders will be competing against Bentley’s Riser, Urban’s Fuse, Lambert’s Platinum, and Bryan’s Crash My Party for Album of the Year.

The 2014 ceremony will be hosted for the seventh year in a row by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. You can find your own CMA Awards tickets in the Vivid Seats marketplace to watch live in Nashville as your favorite stars share performances and earn recognition for another year of excellent music.
