For more than 30 years, Bonnie Raitt has been one of the biggest names in the Blues singing world. With her great "bottle-neck" guitar style and unique style of singing, she is able to impress both blues connoiseurs and regular concert goers. Her website describes her as "an American institution" which sounds about right. Almost anyone will recognize her singing and many of her songs have become a major part of the sound of American blues in the last quarter century. And it's no wonder: her dad was a famous actor in Broadway musicals and her mom a well-known pianist/accompanist. The music she heard inspired her to create great music of her own. She is, in fact, a 9-time Grammy Award winner and still tours extensively. Earlier this year, she appeared on the radio program A Prairie Home Companion, where she sang "No Getting Over You" and "There Ain't Nothin' in Ramblin'." She hasn’t released a studio album since 2005, called Souls Alike that is considered to be a great album, as was her more recent compilation Bonnie Raitt and Friends. Next year, though, she will be touring in several American cities. She will probably be appearing near you. Take a look at the schedule and then buy your Bonnie Raitt tickets today!
