If you’re from the Boston area, you’ve definitely heard of this tournament. It’s called the Boston Beanpot tournament. The tournament has been held every year since the 1952-1953 season and is now considered a local tradition. Each year in the tournament are four local schools: the Boston College Eagles, Boston University Terriers, Harvard University Crimson and the Northeastern University Huskies. It is a fun tournament that consists of two rounds with the first round opponents being rotated every year. In addition to the tournament trophy, there are two other awards given out each year: The Eberly Trophy is given to the goaltender with the highest save percentage. And there is a Beanpot MVP award, for the most valuable player. If you are in Boston, or if you could visit Boston, these games are always really exciting, especially with all the students right there in the arena with you.
