The NHL regular season is right around the corner as 2010-2011 NHL tickets are already on sale. All over North America, NHL teams are reporting for training camp in preparation for another season. There are plenty of new faces in locker rooms around the league, such as, Ilya Kovalchuk in New Jersey, Jaroslav Halak in St. Louis, and Kris Versteeg in Toronto. The Chicago Blackhawks reported to training camp hungry to defend their Stanley Cup title. Chicago saw key players like Versteeg, Dustin Byfuglien, and Antti Niemi leave Chicago in the offseason, but the Hawks will still be in the driver’s seat to capture Stanley Cup when the regular season begins this October.

Top NHL star Alexander Ovechkin has a lot to prove this season. Ovechkin was hands down the best player in the NHL during the regular season, but the goal-scoring Russian was unable to prevent the Washington Capitals from crashing out in their first playoff series. However, teams like Montreal, Philadelphia, and Boston did better than expected in the playoffs and will be looking to carry their momentum over into the 2010-11 regular season. Don't worry hockey fans- because the NHL will be back before you know it.
