In lieu of the long-rumored Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, the boxing world will get the next best thing on November 12th. Pacquiao will face reigning Lightweight WBA/WBO World Champion Juan Manuel Marquez for the third time. The only man to truly come close to beating the world-famous Filipino fighter in the last six years, Marquez has fought Pacquiao close on two previous occasions - resulting in draw (2004) and a split-decision loss (2008). Their last meeting fell in Pac-Man's favor mainly because he knocked down Marquez in the third round. Some even argued after the fight that the Mexican boxing star won the remaining rounds.

While Pacquiao will enter the third edition of this rivalry the massive favorite, fight fans buying Manny Pacquiao tickets can expect an entertaining bout. Even at 38-years-old, Marquez is a cagey competitor at the very top of his sport. If Marquez can find a way to avoid being knocked out in the early rounds by Pacquaio, the fighter nicknamed "Dinamita" will have a realistic shot at pulling off one of the greatest upsets in boxing history. That said, Pacquaio has floored Marquez four times in the early rounds of their last two fights. While people will still be clamoring for a Pacquaio-Mayweather epic after this fight, Pacquaio-Marquez III has the potential to be one of the best fights of the year.
