With a collection of some of the best players in college basketball on display, there will be quite a few people looking for SEC Tournament tickets this year. The 2010 SEC Tournament will be held in Nashville, TN at the Sommet Center. The University of Tennessee will be the hometown favorite as Bruce Pearls' Volunteers try to use the placement of the tournament to their advantage. Pearl has Tennessee ranked in the Top 20 in the country with big wins over Florida and Kansas on their resume. The Kentucky Wildcats will be looked on as the team to beat for the SEC title having dominated the conference for the majority of the year. Point guard John Wall has become a national star and is poised to pick up a SEC Title for the folks back in Lexington. Back in January, the Wildcats did lose to the South Carolina Gamecocks, whose Senior guard Devan Downey leads the conference in points.
The Vanderbilt Commodores are having a great year and could be returning to their 2007 form, when Vandy made a run to the Sweet 16 in the Big Dance. The University of Mississippi will try to defend their 2009 SEC Tournament Championship, but this year the Rebels are on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament and could really use a good showing in Nashville to help their chances of being a part of March Madness 2010. Florida has rebounded after a tough year in 2009 and is back in contention to win the tournament. With a ticket to the NCAA Tournament on the line, a team lower down in the SEC standings like South Carolina, Alabama, or Auburn could make a surprise run to finals. No matter who prevails March 11-14 in Nashville, basketball fans will have four days of high-paced SEC basketball to enjoy.
