Texas Longhorns Have the Real McCoy

Last year was one of the best years for the Texas Longhorns football team. They last won a national championship in 2005 and looked like they were on track to do so yet again last year. They had just one loss all year and it was to their Texas Tech rivals. This was one of the main factors that kept them out of the national championship game in the end. But it was the leadership of QB Colt McCoy that was the real highlight of the season. We saw McCoy not only lead the team in passing, but he was also ahead of all the team’s running backs in terms of yardage. The team’s coaches have mentioned in interviews since the end of the season that they will try to get a running back or two to take the pressure off McCoy, so that he doesn’t have to take the risk of rushing nearly as often. They have several able wide receivers and running backs; this team really has depth in almost all positions. On the defensive side, the safeties and linebackers seem to be all ready to take any challenge that other teams throw their way. In addition, most of the other key players on the team will be returning this fall.

It’s going to be a very exciting year for all Texas fans, as the team tries to get back into the title game yet again.
