The first major PGA tournament of the year is almost upon us with The Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club drawing nearer each day. Golf fans are on the prowl for 2010 Masters tickets, so they can witness when the next green jacket is given away. Names like Jack Nickalaus, Fred Couples, Nick Faldo, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods are all engraved on the Masters Trophy in Augusta, Georgia, but it could be anyone's guess who will join that historic grouping this year. The Masters in reason years has seen unheralded professionals like Zach Johnson and Trevor Immelman surprise everyone by winning the tournament in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Johnson wasn't even a Top 50 player when he won The Masters and Immelman's victory was only his second win on the PGA tournament in his career. Phil Mickelson last won in 2006, when "Lefty" edged out Fred Couples for his second Masters title.
Last year Angel Cabera became the first Argentine to win The Masters defeating Chad Campbell and Kenny Perry in a nail-biting two round playoff. Big name golfers like Mickelson and Jim Fuyrk will look to make a run at Augusta, but keep a look out for the up and coming Steve Stricker who finished second in overall PGA winnings in 2009. Whatever transpires this coming April 8-11, we will be in for a weekend of drama-filled golf featuring the best in the world.
