Ever since the Atlanta Braves’ indestructible pitching rotation was split up several years ago, the team has been unable to get deep into the playoffs. John Smoltz and Greg Maddux went to other teams. But this offseason, the Braves have put their pitching back on the front burner, signing Derrek Lowe, Kenshin Kawakami, and Javier Vazquez. In addition, veteran starter Tom Glavine agreed to a new deal with the team. This will make for a starting rotation that will be hard to beat in 2009.
