Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote South Pacific in the late 1940’s and it remains one of the favorite musicals of all time. It opened in 1949 at the Majestic Theater on Broadway. Since then, it has been remade in many ways. It has been adapted for film and has been revived several times for both Broadway and for various other tours. And who wouldn’t like it? Songs like “Some Enchanted Evening”, “Younger Than Springtime”, and “Bali Hai” have become some of the most popular songs in musical theater. The story takes place in World War Two and it’s about American sailors who fall in love with local women while stationed there. It is really an enjoyable show and it’s no surprise that it’s been revived again. Right now, South Pacific is playing in New York City, at the Lincoln Center. Order your South Pacific New York musical tickets and "some enchanted evening", you will see a great musical!
