The 2013 GRAMMY Awards are quickly approaching, and this year, no category has been as tough to predict as that of Best New Artist. With five stellar nominees in Alabama Shakes, fun., Hunter Hayes, The Lumineers, and Frank Ocean, it’s really anyone’s guess as to who will walk away with the coveted gilded gramophone. Three of the five candidates (Frank Ocean, fun., The Lumineers) earned substantial recognition following debut performances on the current season of Saturday Night Live, while Alabama Shakes was recently announced as an upcoming musical guest for the show’s Feb. 16 episode.
No need to fret Hunter Hayes fans, as the up-and-coming singer has secured a slew of accomplishments himself. The 21-year-old’s hit song, “Wanted,” recently earned double-Platinum status after surpassing two million copies sold, while his self-titled debut album needed just over a year to reach Gold last November.
2013 GRAMMY Awards tickets are on sale now for the Feb. 10 celebration at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In addition to fun., Frank Ocean, and The Lumineers, other nominees scheduled to perform include Mumford and Sons, The Black Keys, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Jack White, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert, and Ed Sheeran (with Elton John). Plus, for the first time in four years, six-time GRAMMY winner Justin Timberlake will take the stage for a much-anticipated live performance. The majority of nominees are also currently on tour, so be sure to browse the affordable selection of concert tickets in stock at Vivid Seats.
