• Fresh Beat Band Tour Leads Family Events This Fall and Winter

    You may have seen the familiar faces of The Fresh Beat Band on their Nick Jr. television show, but now you can bring the family to see this ultra-popular, kid-friendly band up close and personal. The quartet of Marina, Kiki, Twist, and Shout are gearing up for an extensive cross-country tour that kicks off Nov. 12 at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. More than 40 cities will host the peppy pop group over the duration of The Fresh Beat Band Live in Concert Tour, which extends through Feb. 2014.

    The Fresh Beat Band has been introducing preschool-aged children to different styles of music, singing, and dancing since the show premiered in 2009. The group’s live events provide a safe environment for children to appreciate a concert performance from one of the friendliest and most wholesome bands active today. 

    Disney on Ice Tours Offer Diverse Array of Themed Shows
    For more than 30 years, Disney on Ice has entertained families and children alike with the graceful, acrobatic routines of its characters in the rink. This year, a variety of themed ice shows will be heading on tour to dozens of cities across North America. With titles like “100 Years of Magic,” “Princesses and Heroes,” and “Passport to Adventure,” each Disney on Ice show features a multitude of beloved Disney characters, from Mickey and Minnie to new princesses like Tiana and Merida.

    There are always plenty of family theater events—like the long-running “The Lion King”—happening in New York, but this year’s “Matilda the Musical” is especially great for younger audiences. Based on the novel by Roald Dahl and featuring the music of comedian Tim Minchin, this production is a fantastic way to engage kids in live musical theater.

    So You Think You Can Dance Tour Extends through November
    One of the more popular competitions on television today, FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” is taking the thrill of live competitive dancing on the road to dozens of theaters this fall. As the television show prepares for its 11th season, you can bring your family to a riveting performance of complicated routines during the So You Think You Can Dance tour 2013. The venture began Oct. 1 and will be visiting Baltimore (Oct. 21), Miami (Nov. 1), Seattle (Nov. 19), and many other cities before closing Nov. 27 in Los Angeles. 

    Celebrate the Holidays with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and Elf
    It might be a bit early to pull out the Christmas tree, but you can still secure your seats to family-friendly holiday events early. Radio City Christmas Spectacular tickets are on sale now as the New York favorite prepares for its 81st year on stage. Featuring the incomparable Rockettes, the Living Nativity, and several recognizable musical numbers, this enduring live show is a must-see.

    If you’re looking for a more modern holiday classic, "Elf the Musical" will be playing in several local theaters over the holidays. Various productions will make stops in Chicago (Nov. 26-Dec. 15), Philadelphia (Nov. 5-Jan. 5), Houston (Dec. 6-Dec. 22), and Washington, D.C. (Dec. 17-Jan. 5), as well as several other cities. Based on the 2003 Will Ferrell film, this endearing musical highlights the childlike innocence that makes the winter holidays so magical.
