From country star Jason Aldean to pop icons Pink and Justin Timberlake, you’ll have the opportunity to catch your favorite musicians on the big screen this fall, as well as on the road via upcoming tour dates sprinkled throughout the country.
Jason Aldean to Debut Acting Chops in “Sweetwater”
Live performances haven’t stopped for country megastar Jason Aldean, who has been bringing his Night Train Tour across the country since the summer. With the conclusion of the tour fast approaching, Aldean will have time to gear up for his acting debut. “Sweetwater” first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and will finally be hitting theaters on Oct. 11, giving fans a chance to see him don some western garb alongside Ed Harris and January Jones. Aldean posted the photo below of the official movie poster on Instagram, in which you can see the country crooner on the far left side.
Aldean’s tour will continue throughout Canada to kick off the month, before coming to a close on Oct. 26. Aldean also will be making a special appearance at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, on Jan. 10 as an opener for George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.
Prominent Role for Pink in “Thanks for Sharing”
Alecia Beth Moore, better known by her stage name Pink, likely hasn’t had time to catch her breath while embarking on the long-running, record-setting Truth About Love Tour that has been in action since February. As the tour continues on, the 2013 Billboard Woman of the Year and mom to two-year-old Willow found time to add another movie, “Thanks for Sharing,” to her résumé. Credited by her birth name, Moore plays the role of Dede in the film, which was released on Sept. 20, and co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo. It’s not her first role in a movie, but it is one of her first major acting roles outside of cameo appearances.
With one final North American leg to go, Pink’s tour is at last winding down, but many dates still remain from Oct. 10 until the final show on Dec. 14.
Justin Timberlake Teams Up with Ben Affleck in “Runner Runner”
He’s already put out two albums, hosted “Saturday Night Live,” and completed a massive stadium tour with Jay Z, but Justin Timberlake isn’t done just yet. With just a couple months left in 2013, the multi-talented entertainer also will star on the silver screen in “Runner Runner” along with Ben Affleck. In the film, due out Oct. 4, Timberlake plays a Princeton grad student named Richie who teams up with a gambling con man played by Affleck, and not surprisingly, madness ensues in the thriller as online poker losses stack up.
For those who may have missed his limited run of summer shows, Timberlake has lined up the solo 20/20 Experience World Tour, which will launch at the end of October and has dates scheduled into 2014.
Pearl Jam Teases Tour with Behind-the-Scenes Mini Documentary
It’s been four years since Pearl Jam released new music, so antsy fans are eagerly awaiting the Oct. 14 release of the band’s 10th studio album, “Lightning Bolt.” After playing two sold-out shows in July at Wrigley Field in Chicago and Budweiser Gardens in Ontario, the band delighted fans with a 25-stop tour through North America beginning on Oct. 11.
In the meantime, catch a sneak peek of Pearl Jam and the new album in the short film below directed by Danny Clinch.
