San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival will to return to Golden Gate Park from Aug. 8-10 in 2014, and this year’s lineup has fans buzzing. Whether you’re looking for VIP or general admission Outside Lands tickets for a single day or for the full weekend, Vivid Seats has the best options to let you see the following acts at this beloved Bay Area festival.
Friday, Aug. 8
The opening night of Outside Lands 2014 will launch the festival with a bang, as Kanye West takes the stage for one of his few U.S. festival appearances this summer. The 21-time GRAMMY Award winner released the critically acclaimed album Yeezus last summer, and he is already working on a follow-up album, reportedly due out later this year.
Friday’s lineup also boasts the U.K. electronic duo Disclosure, which made a big splash last year with its debut, Settle, which launched the big hits “Latch” and “You and Me.” Another band from across the pond, Arctic Monkeys, will also appear in support of its 2013 release, AM. Kacey Musgraves, who won this year’s GRAMMY for Best Country Album, is scheduled to appear, and blues rock outfit Tedeschi Trucks Band will also play a set. Tegan and Sara, Chromeo, Grouplove, and many more are also on tap.
Saturday, Aug. 9
Continuing into the second day, a collection of talented rock artists is on hand for Outside Lands, including the main headliner, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group is aiming to release a new album this summer. Ben Gibbard’s Death Cab for Cutie, which is reportedly working on its eighth studio album, will also play a set at the festival. Hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who took home four GRAMMY Awards for The Heist this year, also have a slot on the Saturday lineup, as does the Minneapolis-based hip-hop group Atmosphere. Expect to see performances from rock trio Haim, “Safe and Sound” hit-maker Capital Cities, indie rock group Local Natives, and roots outfit John Butler Trio on Saturday.
Sunday, Aug. 10
Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers will close out the weekend with a much-anticipated performance on Saturday. The band is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its 2004 debut Hot Fuss—which featured hits like “Mr. Brightside” and “Somebody Told Me”—this year. Ray LaMontagne also will be on hand on Sunday to support the release of Supernova, his first studio album in nearly four years.
Tiesto, who was named one of the world’s top five DJs by DJ Magazine this year, also will be one of the big headliners on Sunday. Texas rock band Spoon is hoping to release its first album in four years later this summer, and The Flaming Lips will be supporting the 2013 album The Terror during its set on Aug. 10. Cut Copy, Lykke Li, CHVRCHES, Jenny Lewis, and many more also will be featured during the final day of Outside Lands 2014.
