If you liked Riverdance, you’ll love this show. This is the group that’s been called the “Riverdance for the voice”. There’s a good reason for this: they’re from Ireland and they sing a similar kind of music. The five Celtic Women are Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly, Alex Sharpe and fiddler Mairead Nesbitt. In 2009, the group will be embarking on a new world tour, called the Isle of Hope tour, which will stop in more than two dozen cities. Their music is a mix of traditional Irish music and New Age styles. The group became popular almost instantly after they released their first album called Celtic Woman, which sat atop the Billboard World Music charts for 81 total weeks. Clearly, if you like world music, Irish dance music, or beautiful singing, this is the group you need to see when they come to a performance space near you! Get your Celtic Woman tickets today so you can see them in concert soon.
The Canadian post-grunge hard rock band Nickelback is back with their latest album, called Dark Horse. The new album was released on November 18th and has become one of the more impressive sellers this fall. They are especially famous in Canada, where their albums frequently top CD sales for several weeks after the release. The band originated in Alberta, Canada, in 1995 and have been big names in the hard rock scene ever since. Starting next year, they will go on a tour through the US to perform music from their new album, as well as some favorites from previous albums. Have you ever waltzed before? Over the last 20 years, there has been an international waltzing renaissance. More people in Europe and in the US, as well as around the world, are dancing the waltz. Andre Rieu is one of the big reasons for this growing popularity. His concerts with his Johann Strauss Orchestra have packed houses on at least four continents. Rieu started the Strauss Orchestra in 1987, having performed with orchestras before that in Maastricht and Limburg. This man is an expert and he also has a really fun attitude onstage. He’s from the Netherlands and speaks English, so you don’t have to worry that you wont understand the show. This is a great concert to bring your family to see, or just come on your own! And it’s not just a typical, dull classical music concert. It’s really an experience of the music-exciting and fun! It’s not only toe-tapping, but it will actually make you dance the waltz; it’s just that invigorating. Get your Andre Rieu tickets today and enjoy a great concert!
With the high rate of personnel turn over that Fleetwood Mac has experienced since its inception in 1967, it's fitting that their new tour is so far only one month long. Throughout the bands history, they have not had a consistent lineup for more than two years. Other than their founding member/drummer Mick Fleetwood, no other band member has been involved on every album and every tour; the band was a revolving door in which members would come and go as they pleased. So now with their greatest hits album soon to be released, the four current members are taking it slow with the tour. Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks (the now formation of Fleetwood Mac) are set to do some intense touring on the Northeast Coast of the United States (as well as dipping into the Midwest and even Canada) throughout March of 2009. The tour named "Unleashed," is a 16-concert mini tour promoting their greatest hits album of the same name. More Fleetwood Mac tour dates are expected to be announced very shortly, however, it may be a good idea to get your tickets now, just in case this turns out to be the shortest reunion yet.
The first NFL teams have finally started clinching playoff berths this season. There are some really good teams this year, too. The Tennessee Titans, who had an undefeated record up until a couple weeks ago, is the only AFC team to have clinched their division so far. There is a 3-way tie for first place in the AFC East, between the New York Jets, the Miami Dolphins and the defending AFC champion New England Patriots and this division may go down to the last game of the season. In the NFC, things are somewhat clearer. The Super Bowl Champion New York Giants command the NFC East with their 11-2 record and the Arizona Cardinals have clinched the mediocre NFC West. All of these teams are really good and the ones who haven’t yet clinched are also formidable foes; this has been one of the more competitive NFL seasons in years and the playoffs are going to be even better. Don’t miss it! The only thing better than watching an NFL playoff game on TV is seeing it in person. Take a look at our NFL playoff tickets and find yourself some great seats for amazing games.
The musical that etched its place in the turbulent 1960s is being revived and brought back to broadway. Hair, the first rock musical that openly challenged many societal norms and policies of Vietnam, is slated to return to the theater in early 2009. The musical was both loved and despised during its original four year run from the late 60s into early 70s. Hair was a raw, voyeuristic view into the lives of politically active hippies fighting against conscription while living bohemian lifestyles together. With its daring portrayal of illicit drug use, sexual exploration, irreverence towards American ideals and the flag, profane language, and nude scenes, Hair was unforgettable. It was a celebration of pure freedom on the stage, even evidenced at the very end when audience members were actively encouraged to join the cast on stage for the finale. Now that Hair is returning to the stage, a whole new generation can experience what their parents and grandparents before them enjoyed or despised, and we’ve got the Hair broadway tickets you need to see it live!
