    Folk and Country Concerts
Early in the PNC Music Pavilion concert season, on June 21, Tim McGraw will promote his forthcoming 2014 album in Charlotte with his Sundown Heaven Town Tour. Throughout the year, many other country stars will follow in McGraw’s wake, as PNC Music Pavilion concerts are scheduled from Rascal Flatts and Sheryl Crow (July 26), Keith Urban (Aug. 22), Blake Shelton (Aug. 29), Jason Aldean with Florida Georgia Line (Sept. 5), and Brad Paisley (Sept. 19). GRAMMY Award winner and esteemed songwriter James Taylor also will bring his summer tour to the venue on Aug. 3.

    Rock and Pop Concerts
On July 5, the original lineup of vocal group New Edition will headline the Charlotte venue for a Saturday evening show, while the next month, OneRepublic’s Native Summer Tour, featuring Irish rock outfit The Script, will touch down at the open-air amphitheater. Phish will be on site for one night only on July 25, following the June release of Fuego, the band’s first studio album in five years. The 106.5 The End Weenie Roast will host a number of modern rock bands at the amphitheater on Sept. 6, including Foster the People, Weezer, Fitz and the Tantrums, and more, and Vans Warped Tour also will bring many more diverse rock bands to the venue on July 28. Dave Matthews Band will play both an acoustic and electric set at PNC Music Pavilion during its Tuesday night performance on July 22. The season will close in September, when hit U.K. boy band One Direction brings its Where We Are Tour to town for two nights, Sept. 27-28.

    Double-Billed Concerts
Beginning in early July, a number of tours with more than one major act will be making stops at PNC Music Pavilion. The Goo Goo Dolls and Daughtry 2014 joint tour will stop by on July 9, and it will be followed by a co-headlining trek from Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd (July 16), as well as Lionel Richie’s All the Hits All Night Long Tour with Cee Lo Green (July 17). Several more highly anticipated co-headlining shows will play at the venue in 2014 as well including concerts from KISS and Def Leppard (July 19), Fall Out Boy and Paramore (July 23), Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden (Aug. 7), and Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, and AFI (Aug. 12). PNC Music Pavilion also will be one of just two North Carolina venues selected to host Motley Crue’s farewell tour with rock icon Alice Cooper on Aug. 19. Later that month, on Aug. 30, rap fans will be able to catch the Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour, the first venture between the two icons since Drake had a supporting slot on Lil Wayne’s 2009 trek.
