It’s gotten a little bit too interesting this last week. The Detroit Red Wings have been playing well, but they’ve still lost 3 of their last 4 games, including games against Calgary and the New York Islanders. There is an explanation though: they are resting themselves up for the upcoming playoffs. They have been shifting some of the regular players so that they don’t have quite as much playing time. The team doesn’t have to worry at this point too much anyhow. They are still #2 in the Western Conference, with a record of 49-18 with 6 games to go in the season. It has been a great season for the Red Wings. They’ve led the Central Division since the start of the year. In the conference they’ve only trailed the San Jose Sharks during the course of the season.
