WrestleMania turns 30 in 2014, and as expected, big things are on the way to help commemorate the milestone. For starters, a forthcoming WWE video game will allow fans a trip down memory lane in what will surely be a must-have for wrestling fans of all ages.
WWE 2K14 is set to be released on Oct. 29, and though not much has been revealed about the game, one of the key features leaked was the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode, which will let an individual player compete in three decades of historic matches, which is estimated to be upwards of 45 bouts. The three prime matchups that have been announced thus far feature Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant (WrestleMania III), Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock (WrestleMania X8), and John Cena vs. The Rock (WrestleMania XXVIII).
In addition to those included in the matchups, other members of the roster revealed include “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Undertaker, and Dolph Ziggler. While the complete list has yet to be announced, 2K Sports has already proclaimed it to be the “greatest roster in franchise history.”
Though fans still have to wait a few more months before WrestleMania 30 takes over the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on April 6, speculation has already surfaced about who WWE Champion John Cena will face in 2014. No card has been set yet, but there are whispers about a possible matchup between CM Punk and John Cena for the WWE Championship, or even Cena vs. The Undertaker. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had to undergo surgery following the past event for a torn abdomen, but is expected to return for a match in the epic clash.
