Chris Rock is funny

Chris Rock (birth name Christopher Julius Rock III) was born in Andrews, South Carolina in 1965. He is well known as an American comedian, actor, screenwriter, TV producer, film producer, and director. He is considered to be the fifth greatest stand-up comedian of all time.

In 1985, Chris Rock debuted in a stand-up comedy New York City’s Catch a Rising Star. Eddie Murphy had discovered a handsome talented man and gave him an chance to play the first role in the movie Beverly Hills Cap 2. Rock also worked as a VJ on MTV. In 1991, Rock released his first comedy album Born Suspect and won acclaim for his dramatic role in the movie New Jack City. In 1993, Rock joined the predominately African-American sketch show In Living Color. Since the show was not too popular, Rock decided to pursue a film career. Then he tried to concentrate on stand-up comedy.

Rock wrote a book  “Rock This” and released 4 albums: Born Suspect (1991),  Roll with the New (1997), Bigger & Blacker (1999), Never Scared (2004).

Rock received star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003. He was voted the funniest person in America by Entertainment Weekly. In early 2005, Rock hosted the 77th Annual Academy Awards on February 27th, 2005. His television work has won him a total of three Emmy Awards and 15 nominations. Rock also received three Grammy Awards an American Comedy Award. Chris made his first appearance on stage in the UK at the Live Earth event on July 7th, 2007.
