Before he won over the world of film starring alongside Jackie Chan in the hugely successful “Rush Hour” trilogy, Chris Tucker was known as one of the best stand-up comedians around. His memorable appearances on the hit HBO show, “Def Comedy Jam,” made him a household name to those in the know, and now he’s getting back to his roots by taking his hilarious routine around the United States in 2013. Chris Tucker tour dates will send the comedian to many great venues from March into June, including the Paramount Theatre in Denver (March 23), the Chicago Theatre (April 12), the Bayou Music Center in Houston (May 4), and the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif. (May 17).
The popular funnyman abandoned his stage act for the bright lights of Hollywood in the early 90s, and then essentially disappeared from the public eye after completing Rush Hour 3 in 2007, citing a lack of favorable movie roles offered to him. However, close to the time of his return to the stage in 2011, Tucker played a memorable role in the Academy Award-nominated film, “Silver Linings Playbook,” so there may be more films in his future. For now, fans would be wise to take advantage of his return to the stand-up game with a purchase of Chris Tucker tickets on sale now.
