Alter Bridge Band History and Background
Alter Bridge is an American hard rock band, which consists of three former members of Creed band – Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillipsand, and a former paricipant of The Mayfield Four – Myles Kennedy.
The band got its name after Alter Bridge – a bridge on Alter Road, marking the border between Detroit, Michigan and Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. However, the band had several other versions like "Downright" and "One Day Remains".
So far the band has relaeased two albums “One Day Remains” (2004) and “Blackbird” (2007).
more Their deput album with three hit singles “Open Your Eyes", "Find The Real" and "Broken Wings" took the audience by storm. The album got gold certification in the US and was considered three-times platinum according to the international certification.
In April, 2007 Alter Bridge cancelled the contract with Wind-up recording company. They finished working on their next album called “Blackbird” the same month and released it on October 9th, 2007 at Universal Republic Records (with its single "Rise Today", released for digital download on July 30th, 2007).
The single has already hit American charts (it has come fourth in US Mainstream Rock and 37th in US Modern Rock). “Rise Today” has also become the official theme song for WWE Unforgiven 2007.
