All About Aretha Franklin

Aretha Franklin was born on March 25, in the year 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee to Barbara Siggers Franklin and a Baptist minister, Rev. C.L. Franklin. She is a pianist, songwriter and an American songster. Franklin is warmly known as "Sister Ree" amid her crazy fans and is known as “The Queen of Soul” by the music world. She is broadly admired for her expressive vocal approach, which is accompanied by an enormous and influential vocal range. She is famous for her influential recordings and is also expert at blues, jazz, pop, rock and opera.

After Alison Krauss, she is the subsequent most privileged female lead singer in the Grammy history. She won eight successive awards amid 1968 to 1975, during which the class of Finest Female R&B Choral Performance was then aliased on her name. Franklin has twenty awards in her name, which involves the Lifetime Achievement Grammy as well as the Living Legend Grammy. Adolescent pregnancies derailed Franklin's gospel carrier and she decided to secure herself a deal as a pop singer. Franklin signed with Columbia Records in 1960, after being offered contracts from Motown and RCA. She accepted an offer to sign with Atlantic Records because of little commercial success obtained in six years in Columbia, by the end of 1966.

Franklin has a whole of seventeen peak ten solos on top and a whole of twenty number1 R&B solos which is a record unequaled by any new female recording work. Other than Marvin Gaye and Madonna, she is the only musician who has positioned a solo on all charted place of the reputed Billboard peak ten pop solo charts.
