Carissa's Weird Demise Led to Formation of Band of Horses
The indie rock band field now has another group called Band of Horses in its stable. The Band of Horses plays US-style indie rock music and was formally set up in 2004 by Rob Hampton, Creighton Barrett, Mat Brooke, and Ben Bridwell (who is the lead signer of the band.) Brooke eventually left to join another band. Another member named Tyler Ramsey has now been added to Band of Horses as well.
Band of Horses is presently part of the fleet of performers of Sub Pop Records. Under the aegis of Sub Pop Records, Band of Horses has been able to cut and release two albums – the first was called Everything All the Time (released on March 2006) and the second was dubbed Cease to Begin (released in October 2007.
more) A previously released album also called Band of Horses was made in 2005. In addition, Band of Horses has various singles under its belt, with titles such as The Funeral, The Great Salt Lake, Is There a Ghost, and No One’s Gonna Love You.
Actually, though not a commercial hit just yet, Band of Horses has been able to get attention anyway because some of their songs have been used in videos, commercials and TV series. One producer/screenwriter named Josh Schwartz like to use Band of Horses songs in the TV series he is involved in because he likes their music – which is why Band of Horses songs end up in shows like The O.C., Chuck (TV Series), and Gossip Girl (TV Series).
