Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis Guide
Help Center

Standing out in the Minneapolis Theatre District, the Orpheum Theatre has undergone extensive renovations to modernize this beautiful live performance hall. Broadway productions, stand-up comedians, and nationally recognized musicians have all graced the stage of this Minnesota landmark. See the theater's history come to life on November 5, 2014 when the Orpheum hosts Bob Dylan.

Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis Seating Information

The Orpheum Minneapolis follows a relatively standard theater layout. Directly in front of the stage is the three-row pit section. For some concerts, this section may be general admission. Immediately following is the main floor with Sections 1 and 2 that lie in the center of main floor, while Sections 3 and 4 stand on the outer edges of the theater. Single-letter rows will be closer to the stage, while the double-letter rows lie towards the rear of the auditorium.

Moving upwards is a series of six boxes on the sides of the theater. The odd-numbered boxes stand on stage right, while the even-numbered boxes are on stage left. Behind this is the balcony, whose sections are numbered 5-9. Section 5 is in the middle, with even sections again situated to stage left and odd sections to stage right.

Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis General Information

Small purses and bags are permitted at most shows. Outside food and drink are not allowed inside the theater, but concessions are usually sold for consumption within the lobby. Cameras and recording devices are prohibited at every performance.

Typically, the Orpheum Theatre suggests children under six only attend concert events geared towards children, and the staff reserves the right to remove disruptive children from the seating area. If they do attend, each child requires a ticket for admission.

Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis Parking Information

Several parking structures and lots stand within downtown Minneapolis where guests of the Orpheum Theatre can park during Bob Dylan. Parking in these lots is first-come, first-served, and typically must be paid for on site.

Before you head to the Orpheum Theatre, keep in mind the building is mere blocks from both Target Field and the Target Center. If either of these venues have an event on Wednesday, November 5, parking spaces may be limited in the area, and it is advisable to arrive as early as possible.

The Minneapolis Theatre District can also be reached via public transportation. Located between 9th St. and 10th St., the Orpheum Theatre can typically be reached via several bus routes or the Blue Line's Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue stop.

Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis Gate Times

For most events, the Orpheum Theatre lobby opens one hour before the show is scheduled to begin, while doors to the seating area normally open 30 minutes prior.

Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis Accessibility

Accessible seats are typically available on every level of the theater, but it is best to check directly with the box office to see availability for the performance on November 5. Accessible parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Hawthorne Municipal Ramp. Guests can also be dropped off in front of the theater at any time on weekends or after 6 p.m. CST during the week.

The Orpheum Theatre also can provide assisted listening devices for guests with hearing impairments, and some productions may also provide open captioning. Sign language interpretation and live audio description can typically be arranged with at least two weeks' notice to the box office.
