Robert Clark Seger is a popular American rock musician, who was born in Detroit on May 6, 1945. He was raised in Dearborn, MI which is not far from Detroit, and lived there until the age of six. Later his family moved to the small town of Ann Arbor, Michigan. When the boy was 10 years old, his father left the family and went to California. Robert Seger was a student of Tappan Junior High School and Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, and he finished his studies in 1963.

The musician became very successful in the USA in the 1970s and 1980s. Seger gained most of his fans during the years of working with the Silver Bullet Band, which appeared in 1974. A roots rocker, Seger had worked really hard before his songs became popular with the audience. He mainly touched the blue-collar topics and always gave many concerts to support his new albums. Seger's achievements made it easier for other rockers such as John Mellencamp and Michael Stanley Band to become popular with the public.
