David Sanborn Brief History and Ticket Information


American alto saxophonist David Sanborn is most commonly associated smooth jazz and pop fusion. One of David’s first professional gigs was as a member of Paul Butterfield's group. His first guest recording was on David Bowie's Young Americans. Apart from smooth jazz, Sanborn is also associated with free jazz. The musician has become a highly regarded session player since the end of the ‘60s. He played with many well-known artists, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Bob James, Paul Simon, the Brecker Brothers, Jaco Pastorius, James Taylor, Donny Hathaway, Joe Beck, Al Jarreau, Gil Evans, Carly Simon, Billy Joel, Steely Dan, Roger Waters, George Benson, and Japanese pop star Utada Hikaru.  more
