Formed in 1980, Depeche Mode is one of the most prominent and long living bands of the New Wave Era. It is estimated that this band has sold over 72 million albums since the start of their career. Making up Depeche Mode are Martin Gore (primary songwriting, vocals, guitar, keyboard), David Gahan (lead vocals, recent songwriting) and Andrew Fletcher (keyboards). Past members include Alan Wilder and Vince Clarke. Growing in the mid 80's and 90's, Depeche Modes popularity grew in the US. They also took part in much influence in the techno and house music scene. 1990 brought Depeche Mode's most popular single to date, "Enjoy The Silence" which one Best silgle at the Brit Awards and hit #6 in the UK.
