American progressive alternative group from Los Gatos, CA, dredg appeared in the 2007 membership list for The Coterie with honorary membership.
In the middle of February 2007, the band issued a new update on their official website describing in detail the production on their new studio album. The band also released a couple of working song titles to go along with "Ireland." The titles listed on their website were "Hurricane Felix", "Wondrous Miracle", "Fleeing to Mexico", "2001", "Pieces of Gold", "Long Days and Vague Clues", "It's Not Worth It", and "Fucking Smile Pt.
more 2." The final song is a reference to a b-side from the El Cielo sessions called "Fucking Smile." In the same announcement, the band stated that they were going to debut several of the new songs during a handful of live performances in CA, during the first week of April.
At the shows mentioned, new compositions, as labeled on the set lists, included "It's Not Worth It," "Wu," "Push Away," "Quotes," "Ireland," and some short musical interludes. Variations of "Whoa Is Me" "Symbol Song," and "Movement I" were also performed with the main guitar parts that were replaced with a horn section that consists of Terry "The Bari" Forgette on Baritone Saxophone and Ben "King" Perkoff on Tenor Saxophone. "Matroshka (The Ornament)" was played for the first time during their 4 concerts.
In July 2007, frontman Gavin Hayes presented new information on a forth-coming album and tour. Dredg will tour the West Coast in September 2007 and then enter the studio to finish their fourth studio album for a first half release in 2008. The musician said that they have 12-15 songs that may or may not make the final cut. Some more songs are expected to be written during the recording process. A new song entitled "Light Switch" also might make the cut.
