Edgefest 2013 Takes Over the Southwest this Summer
Edgefest is back and ready to rock this summer, as two different versions of the event will be making fans swoon soon. The 102.1 FM Edgefest at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas, is rapidly approaching its quarter of a century birthday, and the draw is still going strong. Slated for April 27, the Edgefest 2013 lineup will include the likes of Paramore, the Deftones and Phoenix. The event follows right on the heels of a long-awaited self-titled album by Hayley Williams-fronted Paramore, which will be released on April 9. The album is the first since the two other founding members of the band walked away from the group, leaving fans anxious to hear what they have in store—and to see what they can bring to the stage as a trio. Phoenix is another band with a new album lurking around the corner. “Bankrupt!” the band’s fifth studio album, will hit stores April 22. The Deftones are holding down the show with over 20 years of experience and a GRAMMY to their name.
Another daylong fest with the same name will be rocking eardrums that are still ringing from the weekend before. The Edgefest lineup for May 5 at the Isleta Amphitheater in Albuquerque, N.M., boasts classics like The Killers, Cake, Minus the Bear and Bad Religion, while other artists set to perform are Youngblood Hawke, Shiny Toy Guns, Middle Class Rut, and many more.
