For the third year running, the Electric Forest Festival is set to return to the Double JJ Ranch near Rothbury, Michigan, for a magical weekend filled with some of the world’s premier jam bands and electronic music artists. It’s all set to go down from Thursday, June 27th to Sunday, June 30th, and with a lineup like this many fans will still be yearning for more. The artists featured at the top of the bill for this year’s fest are bands like Pretty Lights, Passion Pit, Dispatch, Empire Of The Sun, The String Cheese Incident, and Knife Party. And for those who can’t get enough jamming, it’s been announced that The String Cheese Incident will be rocking out for all three days.
In addition to the headliners, some of the other acts set to let loose in the Michigan woods include Benny Benassi, Yeasayer, A-Trak, Grimes, Railroad Earth, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, Madeon, Headhunterz, Baauer, Danny Brown, and Greensky Bluegrass. Festival goers can rejoice as the famous “Sherwood Forest” has expanded in size to feature even more of the state-of-the-art lighting displays, and the philanthropic efforts have grown as well. Each year the festival requests non-perishable food donations, and over the years over 17,200 pounds of food have been shipped to needing local communities. This year, the goodwill has expanded to the festival partnering with local public schools to help support music education. 2013 Electric Forest Festival tickets on sale now, so grab yours to make sure that you’re a part of this fantastic event.
