A Little Bit About Elvis Costello

Elvis Costello was born on 25th August 1954. His birth name was Declan Patrick MacManus but he choose to be called Elvis Costello when he started his career as singer-songwriter and musician. He first became a prominent figure when he participated in the Pub Rock scene in London in the mid 1970s. After his performance in the London's Pub Rock he started singing in punk rock and New Wave genres. However, in 1980s Elvis Costello focused on establishing his own voice. The pre-Warner Bros of Costello were re-issued by Rykodisc Records (US.) and Demon Records (UK). Elvis Costello's licensing deal with Rykodisc ended in 2000.

Time and again singles of Elvis Costello has been making it to the top of numerous charts. For example in 1977 My Aim is True by Elvis Costello made a success within top 40 in USA and came no. 14 in UK. Elvis also published tribute albums in 1998, 2002, 2003 and 2004 by the names of Bespoke Songs, Lost Dogs, Detours & Rendezvous, Almost You. The Songs of Elvis Costello, The Elvis Costello Songbook, A Tribute to Elvis Costello and Davis Does Elvis in respective years.

Elvis has also got many filmography to his names. He started his journey of filmography in 1979 with Earl Manchester in Americathon. After this his journey never stopped and to the date he has got more then 20 filmographies to his name. This shows his dedication to his profession and the importance it holds in his eyes.
