Audrey Faith Perry McGraw was born on September 21, 1967 in Jackson, Mississippi. She is a famous country singer, known worldwide for her great commercial success.
Faith started singing at a very early age. After attending college, the girl moved to Nashville. She wanted to attempt a singing career. Faith’s voice caught the attention of the executives of Warner Bros. Records. Later, they eagerly gave Faith a record deal. After being signed to the famous recording company, the singer was given a great opportunity to open for fellow Tim McGraw. They married in 1996 and have now 3 daughters together.
Faith Hill released her debut album in 1993. It was titled Take Me as I Am. The sales were relatively strong, buoyed by the chart success of the song "Wild One". "Piece of My Heart" went to the top of the country charts as well, though rock fans drew uncomplimentary comparisons to Janis Joplin's cover. The recording of Hill's 2nd album was delayed by her vocal cords surgery. The album finally appeared in 1995, entitled It Matters to Me. It was another great success. The title track became her 4th no. one country single. Faith started the Spontaneous Combustion Tour together with Tim McGraw.
The singer’s 1998 album, titled Faith, moved Hill closer towards a mainstream and more pop-oriented sound. The song "This Kiss" became a no. one country hit, and went to no. 7 on the US pop charts.
The musician’s fame was growing rapidly, when she signed a deal with CoverGirl makeup and released the single Breathe. It was even more successful pop hit, which became one of the biggest albums of 2000. This album won the singer 3 Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album.
Faith Hill released Cry in 2002. The album debuted at no. one on Billboard magazine's pop and country album charts. The release won a Grammy Award and sold about 3 million copies worldwide.
In early 2006, Faith Hill and her husband Tim McGraw went on their Soul2Soul II Tour 2006 that now stands as the highest grossing country music tour with a gross of almost ninety million. Hill’s music band has been a highly featured part of her show. For 2006, the line-up is the following: Faith Hill (in vocals, acoustic guitar), Jerry McPherson on (guitars), Pat Buchanan (on guitars), Jimmy Nichols (on keyboards, the bandleader), Paul Bushnell (on bass guitar), Paul Leim (on drums), and backing vocalists Perry Coleman, Crystal Taliefero, and Wendy Moten.
Recently, in one of the radio interviews, Faith Hill stated that she will be releasing 2 albums in 2007. One will be a holiday album that is almost complete and another album. The singer’s fans expect it to be the "Greatest Hits" release that Faith talked about, or a new studio album.
Both, Faith Hill and McGraw have been confirmed to participate in the Live Earth concerts in July 2007.
