Hammerstein Ballroom Guide
Help Center

A vital piece of the Manhattan Center, New York's Hammerstein Ballroom is one of the city's top mid-size concert venues. This former opera house boasts excellent acoustics in a visually striking auditorium that offers a variety of seating options. Its star-studded history includes appearances from Johnny Cash, Donna Summer, and Radiohead, and this year, First Aid Kit will add to the venue's storied legacy during the October 24 concert.

Hammerstein Ballroom Seating Information

There are three levels of seating at the Hammerstein Ballroom: main floor, first balcony, and second balcony. For some concerts, one or all of these levels may offer only general admission, which will be notated as such on the Hammerstein Ballroom seating chart for First Aid Kit.

For reserved seating, the main floor holds three sections. Section 1 lies to the left of the auditorium, Section 3 stands to the right, and Section 2 is directly in the center. Rows on the main floor begin with single letters (A-Z) near the stage and continue with double letters (AA-FF) towards the back. The first balcony level follows with Sections 101-105 along the rear of the auditorium. The final level, the second balcony, holds Sections 201-203. Each level also contains left and right boxes that stand along either side of the main auditorium.

Hammerstein Ballroom General Information

All types of cameras and recording devices are prohibited for most shows, but some artists may allow the use of small, point-and-shoot cameras without flash. Outside food and beverages are never allowed in the venue. Hammerstein Ballroom usually allows backpacks, but the staff reserves the right to search all bags at the door.

Typically, between September and April, the venue will offer a coat check in the lobby. Fees for the coat check are paid on site.

Hammerstein Ballroom Parking Information

There are numerous parking garages on the streets surrounding the venue. Rates differ at each garage and spaces are limited, so it is best to arrive early if traveling via car.

Hammerstein Ballroom is mere blocks from Penn Station. It can also be accessed via the New York subway's 34th Street stations, which are serviced by the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, and 9 trains.

Hammerstein Ballroom Gate Times

Most often, Hammerstein Ballroom doors open one hour prior to show time.

Hammerstein Ballroom Accessibility

Hammerstein Ballroom may offer accessible seating on 10/24/2014. Requests for limited mobility seating should be processed directly through the box office in order to secure the best available options. There may be additional amenities for the concert by First Aid Kit offered on the day of the show that can also be arranged with the venue staff.
