Gwen Stefani was born in Orange County, CA on the 3rd of October in 1969. Her nicknames are Sunshine and G-loc. She is 1.68m high. She became strongly influenced by "ska" and "punk" music quite early. Her brother Eric Stefani and a friend of his John Spence started the band called No Doubt in 1987. This was the group Gwen would join later on as lead singer. A bit later Adrian, Tony, and Tom joined No Doubt. Their first album was released in 1992. The second album "The Beacon Street Collection" followed within a short period of time. In 1995 their most popular album appeared. Actually, "Tragic Kingdom" managed to top the charts all over the US and Canada. Gwen dated the bass player of No Doubt Tony Kanal. The hit single Don't Speak was dedicated to their relationship. That year Eric Stefani decided to leave the band as he wanted to make a career of his own. After that Phil Jordan and Gabe McNair appeared in the band. Gwen and the members of the band continued to create their music and in 1995 they put up their own money to record an album The Beacon Street Collection. They didnt give in and kept up the hard work and quite soon this brought fruitful results. Tragic Kingdom was nominated by the Grammy as hit number one on the Billboard charts. Three tracks from it "Spiderwebs" and "Just a Girl charted, as well. The next album Return of Saturn was released in the year 2000.

As far as her solo career is concerned it has been most recognized due to several popular 2001 duets. Those were the "Southside" remix recorded together with Moby and "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" that was written with rapper Eve. Gwen Stefani was the first artist at the MTV VMA's to win both Best Male Video and Best Female Video awards. The songs "Southside" and "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" got their share of approval in 2001. Gwen married Gavin McGregor Rossdale (Bush) on the 14th of September 2002. Then Stefani was working on a solo record called Love Angel Music Baby that was scheduled for release in November, 2004. Gwen Stefani created her own fashion line, known as L.A.M.B, with clothing which the singer would wear herself. Her fashion line includes handbags and purses, as well.

Her brand new album is expected to be out before the end of the year. The singer calls it as a definitely another dance record with the sound involving a lot over the last two years. Such songs as "Wind It Up", "Orange County Girl", "Fluorescent" and "Candyland" are included into the album.
