Jazz Attack Brief History and Background Information
Jazz Attack is offering the platform to young talents of the country in a very encouraging manner. Jazz Attack introduces a unique style by mixing the techniques of jazz and rock, with improvisation for the experienced players and the beginners. Jazz Attack is supervised by Keith Norris and by his loyal team members. He strives to provide a strong footing for music studies in schools and colleges nowadays. Implementing their experiences as professional performers and teachers, the musicians teach youngsters regarding all the aspects of jazz.
Jazz Attack branched out of the Voice of the North Jazz Orchestra and features 18 top musicians, who join it from the north of England. All the exciting performances are directed by Dave Connolly. He brings in the wonderful arrangements of big band classics, including "Skin Deep" and "In The Mood", and incorporates various themes from television and cinema, so that children are able to recognize them, easily remember and play.
Jazz Attack concerts feature the big bands playing the pieces that are related to jazz, introducing the repertoire of the big band. The concerts’ major aim is to give the young and talented musicians an overview into contemporary music. The organizers are also trying to make them fully conscious of the LIVE music. The young musicians are also taught to play several musical instruments.
