James Set to Launch 2013 Solo Tour
Though he’s best known as the frontman of the extraordinary blend of talent that makes up the iconic rock quintet My Morning Jacket, Jim James is ready to show the world the work he’s put in on his own. The Louisville rocker is set to release his solo debut, “Regions Of Light And Sound Of God,” on February 5th, and in honor of the record he’ll be taking his talents on the road for a North American tour. The bearded icon originally announced only three East Coast shows, but, knowing the scope of his fan base, he made the wise decision to expand the tour. The East Coast trio of dates starts on February 18th at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia, and from there the tour will kick off in full on April 17th at Brown Theatre in James’ hometown of Louisville, KY.
From there the tour will make stops at venues like Vic Theatre in Chicago, IL (4/20); Webster Hall in New York City, NY (4/29); Stubbs in Austin, TX; and the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA (5/11). The final show of the tour is scheduled to take place at Neptune in Seattle, WA, on May 15th. It was also announced that James will make an appearance at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival, and the thoughtful rocker will be donating $1 from every sold ticket to City Of Hope, which is a cancer research hospital and treatment center.Jim James tickets are set to go on sale February 2nd at 10 a.m., so be sure to get yours as soon as possible to see him live.
