Singer/songwriter/author Jimmy Buffett uses his travels and storytelling skills to explain the world at large to his far-flung legion of fans affectionately known as Parrotheads, many of whom are professionals by day, and turn into colorful, tropical, outrageously-outfitted characters at night when Jimmy comes to town. Jimmy's has released 33 records most of which have gone gold, platinum or multi-platinum. He is also a successful entrepreneur with businesses that expand into nightclubs, clothing and literature.

Jimmy Buffett first moved to Nashville in the late 60's. He first signed to Barnaby Records as released his first album "Down To Earth." Deciding that Nashville wasn't the place for he, he uprooted and moved to Key West, FL and adopted a more bohemian beach bum lifestyle and persona.

His second album "White Sport Coat and Pink Crustacean" was released on ABC-Dunhill records. This album gave Jimmy Buffett a new level of notoriety, thanks in part to the single " Why Don't We Get Drunk"( and screw, as the chorus states). His next album and accompanying single was another step up for Jimmy Buffett. The first single from "Living and Dying in ¾ Time," a song called "Come Monday" was Jimmy's first entry into the singles charts. His following album once again was a step up in success. "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" featured the song "Margaritaville" which turned Jimmy Buffett into a bit of a pop star for a while.

The eighties saw Jimmy Buffett other avenues of success besides music. Instead of focusing on releasing albums, Jimmy Buffett realized that his live shows were what people were interested in. So, he turned his concerts into an event you didn't want to miss. Jimmy Buffett tickets were the hottest things in the Sun Belt states. Every night was like Mardi Gras. He soon after released his own line of clothing called Margaritaville, opened a string of nightclubs in Key West also called Margaritaville and began writing books; one of which was a bestseller.

In 1992, Jimmy Buffett released one of the best selling box sets ever entitled " Boats, Beaches, Bars and Ballads." This in 1994, he finally released another album of new material called "Fruitcakes" which was a big success. Soon afterwards, Jimmy Buffett turned his sights on Broadway. He began working with Herman Wouk in an attempt to turn his novel "Don't Stop the Carnival" into a musical. Although it never went to Broadway, it ran in Miami for six weeks.
