John Frank Tesh, born in Garden City, New York in 1952, has had a successful career in the entertainment and broadcasting industries. He is known worldwide as an American pianist, composer of new age and contemporary Christian music, author, television host, recording artist, music director, and syndicated radio show host. Tesh began playing piano at the age of six, and as a teen, he played with local rock bands. After graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in music and communications, Tesh worked at a progression of television stations.
In 1986, Tesh began to host the syndicated Entertainment Tonight with co-anchor Mary Hart; he continued writing and performing music, and in 1988 issued his first album, Tour de France. In 1996, after ten years as co-host of “Entertainment Tonight”, he left his position to pursue career as a fulltime musician. In 2002 John Tesh produced an album Power of love nominated for a 2003 Grammy for “Best Pop Instrumental Album”. Tesh produced nine albums on his own label, three of them are gold; his career includes six Emmys, two Grammy nominations, an Associated Press Award for investigative journalism, a Keyboard Magazine Award, several number one radio hits, three hit PBS specials and two tours as an Olympic announcer.
In May 2007 Tesh released a CD A Passion life.
