Country music singer Joshua Mario "Josh" Gracin became famous as the fourth-place finalist on the 2nd season of the popular show American Idol. In 2004, after the singer’s departure, his debut album went gold.
The young performer was signed to Lyric Street Records. Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts had become a booster, after Josh’s performance of their I'm Movin' On during the American Idol show. Gracin’s debut album Josh Gracin was released in June 2004. It has sold over 680,000 units and was certified Gold by the RIAA. The album includes the no. One country hit song, entitled "Nothin’ To Lose" and the Top Five hits "I Want To Live" and "Stay With Me (Brass Bed)".
Josh Gracin contributed "Working for the Weekend" to the Herbie: Fully Loaded soundtrack. The singer also performed "When I See an Elephant Fly" on the Jim Brickman record The Disney Songbook.
In spring 2006, Gracin released a new single titled "Favorite State Of Mind". It was the first single off Josh’s release that was set for May 2007. The singer was a guest star on The Young and the Restless in summer 2006. In late October 2006, Gracin sang "God Bless America" during the 7th inning of the Game Two of the World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers.
On December 18, 2006, the singer performed the national anthem of the United States before the start of the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts game on ESPN Monday Night Football.
In 2006, Gracin contributed the song entitled "Hound Dude" to the The Fox and the Hound 2 soundtrack. He has filled in for Richie McDonald, Lonestar's lead vocalist, in concert on a few occasions at the end of 2006, when McDonald had laryngitis. I Keep Coming Back, the singer’s new album is to be released in late 2007.
