Josh Turner Background Information

Country music singer Josh Otis Turner is well known for his very distinctive bass voice. From the very beginning of his solo career, the artist became very successful: his first release Long Black Train was certified platinum. Turner’s sophomore album, Your Man, raised two no. 1 country singles, was nominated twice for Grammy, and has spent 43 weeks in the top Fifty of Billboard's Hot 200 albums chart.

Your Man’s first single and title track was released in late 2005. The music video to this song featured Turner together with his wife, Jennifer, in a hotel room. This song went on to become the singer's biggest hit at the time, hitting no. 1 on the US Country chart and climbing to no. 38 on the Hot 100.

Your Man was certified Gold only four weeks after its release. Three month later, it became Platinum. "Would You Go With Me", the second single from the album debuted at no. 47 on Billboard's Country chart and climbed into the top Forty during its third week. The song soon became Josh's second consecutive no. 1 single, staying at the top of the charts for two weeks. "Would You Go With Me" is considered the musician's biggest hit to date.

In November 2006, Josh Turner performed this song at the CMA Awards ceremony. As a result, the single re-emerged on the top half of the Hot 100 at no. 48.

In late 2006, the 49th Annual Grammy Award nominations were announced. Josh received nods for Best Country Album and for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. His new album is expected to be released in late spring or early summer 2007.
