The annual New York State Fair returns to Syracuse this year, featuring a variety of the Empire State's top agricultural, culinary, and artisanal wares. To top it off, this year's fair will bring another round of top-tier entertainers--like Journey with Cheap Trick on August 28--to the historic fairgrounds. Read through the New York State Fair guide below for more information about this open-air performance space.

New York State Fair Seating Information

On occasion, a performer may choose to use a unique stage setup that may alter the layout of the sections close to the stage. Be aware of specifications by viewing the New York State Fair grandstand seating chart on this page.

Closest to the stage is the flat track, with sections X1-X9, as well as X118-X120. The following level, the elevated track, features sections X12-X16. The final area is the grandstand which has four main sections (1-4). Each of these four is divided into small subsections that range from X21-X72, as well as sections X121-X122.

New York State Fair General Information

While outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are permitted in the fairgrounds, they are not allowed within the grandstand. Children under two are typically admitted without a ticket so long as they sit with a paying adult.

New York State Fair Parking Information

Various lots surround the fairgrounds with parking available to purchase on site. The closest lots to the grandstand are the yellow, green, and red lots, but there are many spaces also available in the orange, brown, pink, purple, blue, and gray lots that surround the grounds.

New York State Fair Gate Times

Gates for the fairgrounds usually open at 8 a.m. local time, but the gates to the grandstand venue do not open until one hour prior to the concert.

New York State Fair Accessibility

With a handicapped parking sign, guests can park in the accessible lot between Gates 10 and 11. Scooters and wheelchairs are both available to rent through the fair, if necessary, and the grandstand offers seating options for guests with limited vision, mobility, and hearing. Sign language interpreters may be available with enough notice given to the New York State Fair's guest services staff.

Seating for the visually impaired, hearing impaired, and guests who need sign language interpreters is designated in section X118, while sections X121 and X122 in the grandstands is accessible seating.
